Bloodborne Pathogens

This program teaches health care professionals and laypersons the knowledge needed to meet the required OSHA content for bloodborne pathogens prevention. Over five million workers in health care related fields are at risk to exposure to bloodborne pathogens, such as the HIV virus and hepatitis B virus. Designed to meet the current OSHA training requirements, Bloodborne Pathogens was created for students and employees who have potential for occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials, and even has supplemental information on airborne pathogens such as tuberculosis.

VFIS Endorsed Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)

The Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) is designed to provide EMS operators with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate an Emergency Vehicle in emergency and non-emergency mode. Topics covered include legal aspects of emergency vehicle operations, navigating and route mapping, driver roles and responsibilities, basic driving skills, and proper driving procedures. The course is 8 hours in duration. The first part of the course is in the classroom. The second part of the course includes hands on emergency vehicle driving on a course. Participants are eligible to receive 8 hours of Massachusetts OEMS continuing education credits upon successful completion of the course.

VFIS Endorsed Fleet Vehicle Operators Course

The Fleet Vehicle Operators Course is designed to provide fleet vehicle operators with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate a fleet vehicle. Topics covered include legal aspects of fleet vehicle operations, navigating and route mapping, driver roles and responsibilities, basic driving skills, and proper driving procedures. The course is 8 hours in duration. The first part of the course is in the classroom. The second part of the course includes hands on fleet vehicle driving on a course.

"Choke Saver" Program

Students will learn how to perform ADULT CPR, relieve foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) in the responsive and unresponsive victim, and provide rescue breathing with a barrier device.
